The Otis Toy Design Department has had the pleasure of hosting a visitor from AIJU, a toy industry organization located in Spain. That visitor’s name is Miriam Morante.
AIJU is a Spanish institution that works for more than 400 associated companies that design and manufacture toys and the materials used in the toy industry in Spain. Miriam and AIJU requested this visit to the Otis Toy Design department in the hope of improving AIJU’s assessment of Spain’s needs for building a more professional toy industry infrastructure. More information about AIJU can be found at http://www.aiju.info/
Over the past month Miriam has visited and participated in many of the Toy Design classes, lectures and presentations. Miriam gave the students, in History of Toys, a very interesting and informative presentation about AIJU and the history of toys in Spain.
Miriam’s visit is now coming to a close at the end of this week, after Senior Show. She is looking forward to spreading the word in Spain about Otis Toy Design. A result may be that students from Spain may be encouraged to enroll at Otis. Information that she shares with toy companies in Spain may also bring opportunities for employment of our Otis Toy Design interns and graduates. We at Otis hope Miriam enjoyed her experience here and wish her a safe trip home to Spain.

Hello!!
I am back to Spain, after my wonderful time in OTIS.
Everybody in AIJU, where I work, it is impress with all the photos I took and how nice everybody was with me.
You have a great college, but the best part is the people. Thank you to everybody, from students to teachers to everybody in the toy design department.
I hope some OTIS students can come and visit Spain. We woud like to help them to come and have the oportunity to do interships in Spanish companies.
And of course I wish I can come back to OTIS someday!
